Wednesdays @ The Lamp
Join us at The Magic Lamp Inn every Wednesday Night as we enjoy the wonderful ambiance of the Lamp's Lounge and dance the night away! The Philharmonics play wonderful dance music of all kinds, from line dances to foxtrot to cha cha and merengue to swing and top 40. Wednesday is also Open Mic Night, so clear those pipes and sing your favorite song with the band!
With a super easy basic East Coast Swing lesson at 6:30pm, you can learn how to hold your own on the dance floor, adding an additional dance move every week.
For those more serious about improving their dance skills, we also teach an all levels group class at 6:45 each week. Series classes are $12 for drop-ins or $40 for 4 weeks (must be prepaid on the first Wednesday of the month to receive the prepay discount). We rotate the dances we teach each month, so whether you are interested in learning Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, Blues or Cha Cha, you won't have to wait long to learn your next favorite dance. Check our Calendar page for the next few months' lineup!
Or, maybe you can't commit to dancing at the Magic Lamp Inn every wednesday for a month. If you have a busy or unpredictable schedule, we also have a seperate drop-in class at 6:45pm just for you. We rotate the class each week, and this class is all- levels. So, no matter how skilled (or not quite skilled) you are on the dance floor, we are sure we will be able to teach you a new step or two, or maybe just work on your technique. Drop in classes are $12 each week.
The Magic Lamp does not charge a cover or admission fee, but there is a 2 drink minimum, which can include beer, wine, The Lamp's signature cocktails, soda, coffee, hot or iced tea, or bottled water. In addition to their extensive wine list and expertly concocted cocktails, the Lamp also offers a Lounge menu, with Happy Hour specials from 4:30pm until 8:00pm.
"The Magic Lamp Inn - one of California's original steakhouse - has served for over half a century as a friendly and comfortable outpost for diners on Old Historic Route 66.
The Restaurant magically re-creates an earlier and simpler day in Southern California with the large welcoming fireplace lounge, warm varnish dark woods and brick pillars."
